SKIN CONDITIONS

1. Oh no, I’m Breaking out! Or is it Acne?!

Acne and breakouts can affect skin at any age. It is usually categorized by oily/normal skin that persistently breaks out, gets clogged, reactive and gets inflamed. Acne is caused by many factors such has dirt, pollution, stress, overproduction of sebum, unbalanced diet and hormones. Wow , its okay! The good news is that acne can be alleviated over time by controlling stresses, getting regular exercise, sleep and a good healthy diet and of course you need to see what will help topically with controlling this issue to keep your skin clear and healthy.

2. Saging skin, lack of firmness.

Just like muscles throughout the body, the muscles under our complexion can lose tone. When muscle fibres and elastin lengthen as a result of aging, lifestyle, nutrition and how well you take care of your skin, the skin then appears to sag. Dehydrated skin can also appear to droop especially around eyes and jawline area. A constant skin care regimen and regular facial massages are key ways to keep skin healthy and firm!

3. Oh my gosh I have wrinkles!!!!

Well its not too late! I cannot stop birthdays but I can help you age gracefully with your most beautiful healthy and purest skin! The signs of aging include wrinkles and sagging skin. These conditions are a direct result of the body’s aging process. Natural collagen production slows and depletes thus appearing less plump! While this happens to everyone, there are ways to minimize the appearance and development of fine lines and wrinkles. The best long term prevention for all is to have a balanced healthy lifestyle, daily sun protection and the perfect duo is Ingestable skin care paired with the best topical Skin care!

4. OH NO! My pores are so large!

Regardless of age, the appearance of large pores is a common skin concern. Pores are used by the body to distribute sebum ( commonly reffered to as “oil”). While everyone has visible pores, some produce more oil resulting in larger pores. Sebum also oxidizes when it reaches the surface of the skin causing the pores to visibly appear larger. Pore size may also increase with age, as the skin loses its elasticity. With regular cleansing and gentle exfoliation, sebum is removed on the surface of the skin resulting in less visible pores. Wearing a non-comedogenic mineral makeup will also help the complexion to look flawless.

5. Pigmentation!! My skin looks uneven!

Defined by the appearance of dark spots, freckles, scarring or an uneven skin tone, pigmentation or hyperpigmentation can affect any skin type! This is a result of increased melanin production in the skin. Environmental factors, stress, aging, hormonal imbalances, post-inflammatory pigmentation are all huge factors in why this colour change in your skin tone. Treat and protect from future damage with SPF and seek treatments specifically designed to fade dark spots and give you even glowing skin again!

6. What!! My eyes have wrinkles!

Sometimes confused with reactive skin or even acne. Rosacea often shows on the skin as an inflammation and reddening of the nose, forehead, cheek or chin. This is inflamed capillaries on the skins surface giving a red, blotchy, bumpy appearance, sometimes you can feel direct heat on the surface of the skin. Rosacea is usually genetic but certain factors are known to aggravate it. Avoid hot liquids. Alcohol, even some spicy foods, The sun and extreme temperatures. Using the right products will help calm your skin and clear irritations and control redness. Spf is also a key product to never forget.

7. My skin is so sensitive..Rosacea!

8. Itchy dry, sensitive (reactive) or sun damaged skin, really?

Did you spend too much time in the sun!? This can result in both temporary and long term damage to the skin. One of the most common conditions as a result of sun exposure is dehydrated and painful, itchy skin and redness of the skin, thus creating the feeling of a reactive skin since its so dehydrated. Extensive sun exposure will result in permanently stretched blood vessels, creating that red blotchy complexion. To prevent any more damage of sun damage, keep your skin hydrated and definitely protected with sunscreens this will thus also result in your skin being less reactive and less sensitive.

9. I’ve never taken care of my skin and I don’t even know where to start!!!

Don’t worry! Taking care of your skin at any age should be fun and not daunting! This will relax your senses and make you feel so beautiful, rejuvenated and simply so pure! If you’ve never done any routine I can help guide you on how to start with a basic routine so you can get used to the 2-3 minute addition to make your skin happy.
Always remember the 4 basics, which then afterwards a 5th basic should be added (remember those eyes)

A basic routine that is essential to keeping your skin healthy and hydrated is:

1. Cleanse AM and PM

PM– this is essential even though you think it is not necessary ( in fact at night when you wash your hands do you sometimes notice the dirt coming off your hands well can you imagine that same dirt is on your face!)

AM– If you think there is no need to cleanse in the morning well our skin releases toxins while we sleep and can leave a residue of unwanted oil.

2. Tone AM and PM, why is this so important? A step not to miss!!

This step hydrates your skin before you use moisturizer, thus will result in better absorption of your products. ( here’s a thought for you, if you go to clean your house with a sponge that is dry and you put cleaner on it, you end up using a lot of cleaner so you can scrub better, well its because your sponge is dry, BUT if you would wet (TONER FOR SKIN) your sponge all you would need is 1-2 drops of cleaner to be able to scrub.

3. Hydrate AM and PM

Yes hydrating is key wether its hydration or moisture for any skin type, you should be hydrating.

4. Exfoliate

This is so important with all skin types. Exfoliation removes the barrier of dead skin cells clogging the skin and uncovers fresh new cells below. Amazing for blackhead removal, brighter complexion, your product absorbs better, pores are reduced!!

5. Now of course I would like to add a 5th basic step to any routine and that’s the eye area!

Why is this so important right now, well it is thinner skin and ages faster than the skin on your face and if missed or neglected those fine lines suddenly make an appearance!

The eye area is thinner therefore using a moisturizer suited for the face may not be suited for the eye area. Eye creams are specifically designed to optimize that thinner skin and not cause any blockage. I always ask my clients to do this trick method, if you see someone with dark sunglasses on, can you guess her age? and if they take off their sunglasses would you then realize the age may be older due to her fine lines around her eyes?

My 5 basic skin care routine that is sure to help you on your path to the purest version of great skin care! Be Pure!
